Join our vibrant ATLANTAFUTURISM community meetup on Tuesday, October 28th from 6pm to 8pm at SODO Pop Up Space, a gallery install inside Oh! My Nappy Hair Salon to celebrate Black Speculative Fiction Month 2025 and chart a course into the stars together.
Our gathering will feature a dynamic talkback at 7PM with Black Speculative Fiction Month Co-Founder Milton J. Davis of MVMedia and literary scholar and author Dr. Marcus Haynes, where attendees will explore and reflect on the growth and future of Black speculative creativity in Atlanta and beyond, connecting the local scene to a larger movement of innovation and imagination.
A highlight of the evening will be the reveal of SUBSUME’s “Constellation of Change” — an interactive map celebrating 100 Black creators whose interconnected work defines the galaxy of modern Speculative Fiction. This dynamic, living constellation invites audiences to explore the relationships between genres, cultures, and creative collaborations, offering a universe of discovery and inspiration for the next generation of futurists, storytellers, and visionaries shaping our world.
Guests will also have the opportunity to browse and purchase an eclectic selection of books and artwork from SUBSUME, including exclusive pre-orders from the upcoming Fall 2026 capsule collection.
